Christmas Event 2025: Thanks for an Amazing Season

A look back at TerraX's Christmas event that ran from December through the end of January. Event currency from mining, Gift Boxes, themed store, and a big thank you to everyone who took part.

Quest log: on this page

TerraX ran its second Christmas season from December through the end of January. The first ran at the end of 2024; this one used the same core loop: a separate event currency, earned by playing, spent on Gift Boxes and nothing else. No USDT for the main event reward — you had to mine for it. Here's how it worked and what's next.

Event Currency: How You Earned It

Event currency was only available during the season and could not be bought with USDT. The only way to get it was mining. Every time you completed an ore in the Mine Shaft, the game rolled a chance to grant you a random amount of event currency (from 1 up to a set maximum per drop). Your equipped pickaxe's luck stat affected that chance: higher luck meant a better shot at a payout. So players with better tools earned more currency over time, but everyone could participate. The more you mined, the more you could stack before the season ended.

Gift Boxes

Event currency had one use: buying Gift Boxes from the store. Gift Boxes could not be purchased with USDT — only with event currency. When you opened a Gift Box, you received a random item from the event loot pool. The loop was mine → earn currency → spend on Gift Boxes → open for rewards. That was the core of the season. The store also sold seasonal gear for USDT. The headline items were the Frostbound Talon(weapon) and the Aegis of Yuletide (shield), so players could either earn rewards through mining and Gift Boxes or buy specific items with in-game currency if they chose.

The Season Window

The event had a fixed start (December) and end (end of January). When the season closed, no new event currency could be earned and Gift Boxes could no longer be bought with event currency. The window was real — no extensions. Players who wanted to spend their currency had to do it before the cutoff. Anyone who missed the window had to wait for the next seasonal event. Unspent event currency remains on accounts but cannot be used now that the season is over.

What This Means Going Forward

The 2025 Christmas season was the second run of TerraX's seasonal event system. The same structure — earn-by-playing currency, time-limited window, Gift Boxes as the main reward — is the template for future seasons. Feedback from players who mined, opened boxes, and engaged with the store during the run has already informed what we do next.

Thanks to everyone who played the 2025 Christmas season. The next one is in the works.
