The Raid: Boss Battles Reforged

Boss battles are no longer a tapping contest. You send your character in with potions and a hot meal and the fight resolves itself round by round, whether you are watching or not. What you earn comes down to the gear you brought, not how fast your finger is. Pull fallen fighters back onto their feet with your own potions, take titles for what you actually did, and let the whole realm hear when a raid is called.

The Turning Year

The seasons were scenery. Now they are weather you have to plan around. Four seasons turn with the world clock and each one changes what the land will give you: fish run fat in summer and thin under the frost, the groves swell in autumn, the ore seams run rich in winter. Ashwing has learned to breathe fire, and the caves now hold you for a full hour instead of fifteen minutes.

Brothers in Arms: The Co-op Update

Fight together for the first time. Combat is rebuilt from the ground up: no more one-on-one duels with a mob while your friend watches, every weapon swings at its own speed, and threat decides who the monster hunts. Form a party of five, share XP, and hunt Ashwing the Dragon, a world mini boss who lands once a day and rewards everyone who fights. Plus goblins in the fields, a one hour clock on the caves, and a long list of fixes.

World Events: The Realm Turns

The world itself now turns. Eight world events reshape the land's bounty while they hold: floods that drown the coal seams, gold veins that run double rich, forests that surge, shoals that empty. Every event gives with one hand and takes with the other, announced by a warning horn across the whole server and shown on your character panel while it lasts.

Every one of the six stats now does something real — your follower gives you speed, crits, loot luck and evasion, and comes with you into caves. Breeding costs energy and time instead of dollars.

TerraX Fishing Calculator: Plan Every Cast

Set your rod, bait, lure, harpoon and the time of day, and see what actually bites: pool odds per species, XP and pearls per cast, ingredient yield, rod wear, and which phase of the lore day is worth the most for the exact gear you own.

Set your gear and the conditions, and see what a cast is worth.

Average weight is what a cast with no lure rolls: the lure caps the roll at 40% of each species' maximum, and ingredient yield scales with the weight you actually land. Blood-chum leviathans are capped at 5 per day, with 1 extra hook available through streaks.

Daily Curves

Two curves the game never shows you, both of which decide what a long session is actually worth.

Pearl taper

Every pearl award is scaled by how many you have already banked today, so a grind asymptotes rather than compounding.

Fishing Is a Matrix, Not a Ladder

Most players treat fishing as a rod ladder: forge the next rod, catch better fish. The system is really a matrix of rod rarity against bait family and bait rarity, and the matrix has corners people miss for weeks. A legendary rod with common grub still rolls commons. A humble rod with rare bait is wasting the bait. The calculator makes the whole matrix visible so you can see exactly what a new rod or a better bait actually unlocks before you spend the forge time or the market price. For the full loop, tournaments and pearl economics, read the fishing guide, and for how our system compares to other games' idle ponds, the honest comparison.

The Clock Is the Fourth Axis

Rod, bait and water are the axes players think about. The one that quietly decides a session is the clock. The lore day runs six phases, and a good share of the roster only surfaces in a window: fish the same freshwater with the same legendary bait at noon and at dawn and the dawn cast is worth several times the XP, because the golden-hour species simply are not awake at midday. Pearls make the gap sharper still, since they drop only from dawn, dusk and nocturnal fish, so an afternoon session earns none no matter how good the rod is. The phase table shows all six windows for your exact loadout and marks the one worth fishing.

Energy Is the Real Bait

Every cast spends energy, and energy is the day's hard budget, so the real question the calculator answers is where a cast is worth spending. Critter casts at 5 energy are the volume play; blood chum at 500 is a planned event with a daily cap and hardware requirements. Between them sit the coastal, deep-sea and nocturnal waters, each with species the kitchen and the market actually want. The XP-per-energy figure is the number to compare across loadouts, and it is where the counterintuitive answer lives: a legendary critter bait rolls the top table at the cheapest cast in the game. Check what your catch sells for on the live market before you decide which water your energy fishes tonight.

Chasing One Fish

The other half of the tool runs the question backwards. Pick the species you are after and it lists every gate standing between you and it: the bait families that reach its waters, the minimum bait and rod rarity, the windows it surfaces in, and for leviathans the harpoon rarity you need alongside blood chum. It is the fastest way to find out whether a codex entry is a shopping trip or a whole tier of progression away.

Questions Players Actually Ask

How does the calculator know what I can catch?

It applies the game's own pool rules: bait family decides which waters you fish (critters hit freshwater and rivers, crustaceans the coast, cephalopods the deep sea, luminous bait the nocturnal species, blood chum the leviathans), your rod's rarity caps the fish rarity you can attempt, and bait rarity caps what actually bites. A tier 0 rod only ever catches common fish.
Each species' weighted share among everything your combination can hook. On each cast the game samples a pool of species by these weights and shows it to you for 60 seconds, and you choose the target, so the odds describe what appears in your pool rather than a blind roll.
Family sets the energy cost and the waters; rarity sets the value. Common bait rolls only common fish no matter what rod you hold, while legendary bait spreads across every rarity and is the only bait that unlocks mythical fish. The Centipede, a legendary-rarity critter, rolls the top table at the minimum 5-energy cast, which makes it the best value bait in the game.
Blood Chum bait (500 energy per cast), a legendary rod, and a harpoon whose rarity matches or beats the leviathan's. Blood-chum leviathan catches are capped at 5 per day, with an extra hook available through catch streaks.
The lore clock runs six phases: dawn (05:00-07:00), morning, noon, afternoon, dusk (18:00-21:00) and night. Some species only appear in specific windows, so the same rod and bait can be worth several times more at one phase than another. Set the time of day in the calculator and the phase table shows all six side by side, including which species are exclusive to each window.
Pearls only drop from dawn, dusk and nocturnal species, so the time of day decides whether a session earns any at all. Fishing the same waters at noon earns zero. On top of the per-fish rolls, the first catch in each phase of the in-game day pays a bonus of 3 pearls at dawn and dusk, 2 at night and 1 otherwise. Pearl awards are then scaled by a daily taper, shown in the calculator: full rate up to 30 pearls, dropping to 5% past 250, which is why a multi-hour grind flattens out around 280-340 a day.
The lure's tier caps how much of a species' maximum weight a catch can roll: 40% at tier 0 up to 100% at tier 5. Weight matters because ingredient yield scales with the weight you actually land, so a better lure raises fillet and oil output from the same fish without changing which fish you can hook.
Yes, and it follows from your bait. Critter bait fishes freshwater rivers and lakes; crustacean, cephalopod, luminous and blood bait all fish saltwater. The calculator shows which water a bait opens and filters the species accordingly, so you can see when a bait simply cannot reach the fish you are after.
5 energy times the bait family multiplier: critters 1x, crustaceans 3x, cephalopods 5x, luminous 7x and blood chum 100x, so casts run from 5 to 500 energy. Fishing unlocks at level 10 once you forge the Twig Rod.
